hi, sweet friend.

I used to think I wanted to change the world, but I’ve changed my mind. I’d much rather just change one heart. So, to you, sweet soul, this space is for you. No matter who you are, no matter where you’ve been, this space is for you. You matter here.

"If You Find This Letter"

Author: Hannah Brencher I admit, I picked this book up on a whim, and I'm so glad I did. "If You Find this Letter" is the written story of Hannah and a transitional time in her life, filled with question on top of question. She bravely broaches questions and fears and things we all wonder about, including God.

“When it came to talking with God, I wanted to believe he was like those stars. If I looked, he’d be there. I’d lost a lot of things in the years that led up to this point - shoes and keys and books and boyfriends - but I never lost that hope”

She writes with transparency and without pretense, inviting readers into a tumultuous period full of questions. Y'all. I shamelessly cried (in a coffeehouse, no less) the entire second half of the book, because so much of my heart resonated with her writing.

"Maybe we’re all a how are you away from not feeling so alone in all of this today.”

Oh, and this awesome chick started a movement called "More Love Letters," in which people can write letters to strangers, encouraging them, which is what the book is partially about. I know, I'm a sucker for written words and letters, but let's be real, the world does need more love letters, more people encouraging one another.

She writes with a style that is uniquely hers, painting visuals with the simplest of words, beautifully expressing musings that lie in all our hearts.

"...the definition of agape is loving a person for exactly who they are - not who we hope they'll become with enough fixing.”

If you'd like to keep up with more of her writings (and you should), find your way over to her website under my 'Graced Space' page.
